Extended Health Benefits
Most families have extended health benefits plans that include coverage of speech therapy sessions. To find out more information about your plan and the coverage amount, please contact your insurance provider.
The CKNW Orphan’s Fund provides funding for therapy session such as speech therapy, physiotherapy, music therapy, and occupational therapy. Bursaries and equipment funds are also available for eligible applicants.
Variety – The Children’s Charity
Variety helps children by providing individual grants for equipment, medical/Therapeutic supplies, specialized therapy (including speech therapy), dental services, and bursaries to successful applicants.
Autism Funding Unit (BC Ministry of Children and Family Development)
The ministry of Children and Family Development in British Columbia provides funding programs for children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The under age 6 program provides families up to $22,000 per year per child to assist them with for a list of eligible autism intervention services. The ages 6-18 program provides families up to $6000 per year per child for a list of eligible autism intervention services, in addition to the educational program and special educational services provided through school boards.
