Fiona Slade

Registered Speech Language Pathologist

Fiona received her Master of Speech and Language Pathology from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. She is registered with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia and certified by Speech-Language and Audiology Canada. She is on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP). Fiona is a Clinical Educator for SLP practicum students.    

 Fiona has experience working with children with a range of speech and language disorders, as well as children with developmental disabilities, complex communication needs, and children using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Her areas of clinical interest include childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), stuttering, autism spectrum disorders, language delays, social communication, and AAC. Fiona has completed professional development in Social Thinking® methodology by Michelle Garcia Winner and training in LAMP: Words for Life. She is certified in the Hanen “It Takes Two to Talk” program for parents of children with language delays. Fiona is passionate about providing holistic and highly individualized services using a play-based and functional approach.

In her spare time, Fiona enjoys singing in a choir and spending time outdoors.
